Donetsk Region, Donetsk
Alina lives in the Tekstilshchiki District in Donetsk, which was shelled and almost destroyed. The girl, from a large family, wants to find care and attention in Artek, bathe in the sun and swim in the sea, without being scared by night shelling. She also wants to bring a souvenir from Crimea to her mom.

Alina Dushko: “What has Artek given me? My old dream has come true here: I have learned how to do the splits. We worked out in other studios too. By the way, the curriculum in Artek is very interesting and unusual; biology was my favorite subject there. I liked the teacher very much. If every teacher was like him, all children would have excellent marks. The food at the Artek dining room was delicious; I always chose the pickle soup if it was on the menu. At breakfast, we ate fruit or vegetable salads, pancakes or buns with jam. I have also bought gifts for my mom and granny in Sevastopol, as I wanted.”
The permit for a free stay at Artek was given by the Korsun Charity Foundation, which supports social projects.
