Camp Morskoi (Marine) is where the history of the Artek International Children’s Center began when the first tents were pitched in 1925. The camp has been rebuilt several times.

Over the years, children have welcomed Clara Zetkin, Indira Gandhi, Yury Gagarin, Gianni Rodari and many other famous people of the 20th century at the camp’s Friendship Alley and bonfire area.

The renovation of Morskoi was completed in time for its 90th anniversary. It is now a modern camp with amenities, as well as the largest in Artek. Its eight comfortable dormitories have rooms with three to seven beds and can accommodate 550 children at a time. The camp is open year-round.
